Day at the Races Set for Arapahoe
Handicapping seminar, track tours scheduled for July 15 at Colorado track.
July 8, 2012
The American Quarter Horse Association and the Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Association will host a “Day at the Races” at Arapahoe Park next Sunday, July 15. Coinciding with the final of the Rocky Mountain Futurity, the day will showcase American Quarter Horse racing and raise money for breast cancer research and awareness for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The day will begin with a handicapping seminar with visiting AQHA Q-Racing Ace Jennifer Hancock and Arapahoe Park announcer Jonathan Horowitz at 11 a.m. Fans, the first 100 of whom will receive free bet vouchers, can take tours of the announcer’s booth and stewards’ office throughout the day. There will also be a jockey stick horse race and a three-legged race for kids.
The AQHA began the Q-Racing Ace program in 2010 to promote Quarter Horse racing around the country. Hancock, the visiting ace to Arapahoe Park, is a former editor of
