Pollsters in this week’s AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Top-10 rankings left little doubt about who they see atop of the racing world. For much of 2012, leading older horse Cold Cash 123 has been a unanimous No. 1 in the poll, but this week, the voters also solidified a unanimous vote for One Dashing Eagle among the 2-year-old rankings. It’s the first time in 2012 that both the juvenile and older-horse polls have been in lock step.

One Dashing Eagle, leader among the 2-year-olds, is at Ruidoso Downs preparing for this month’s All American Futurity (G1) trials, as are many of the other leading juveniles in this week’s rankings. Also at Ruidoso is the nation’s top older horse, Cold Cash 123, who is working toward a possible start in either the All American Gold Cup (G3) at Ruidoso on Labor Day weekend or the Go Man Go Handicap (G1) at Los Alamitos this fall.

The only newcomer to either poll this week is 3-year-old Terrific Synergy, who debuted at No. 9 in the rankings among 3-year-olds and older. The winner of Saturday’s Governor’s Cup Derby (RG2) at Los Alamitos, he is expected to take on his elders in major dates later this year.

Pollsters had some minor shuffling in both rankings, with El Duero moving up one spot in the juvenile poll to No. 5 and Llano Teller swapping the No. 3 spot with Ochoa among the 3-year-olds and older.
