The American Quarter Horse Association and Tractor Supply Co. announce the 2013 Stewards for Trails, Education & Partnerships grant recipients.

Stewards for Trails, Education & Partnerships is a project of the American Quarter Horse Association and Tractor Supply Co., designed to encourage good stewardship and conservation of riding trails.

Thanks to the partnership with AQHA Corporate Partner Tractor Supply Co., AQHA is able to fund groups and organizations that have the most impact for community involvement and trail sustainability. This year’s grant projects include clearing brush from trails, restoring trail networks, increasing trail signage, improving facilities, restoring trail soil, and developing educational messages for and creating a conservation internship program. The 2013 STEP grant recipients include:

  • Back Country Horsemen of California in El Dorado Hills, California – $8,225
  • Back Country Horsemen of North Georgia in Blue Ridge, Georgia – $1,900
  • Essex County Trail Association of Hamilton, Massachusetts – $5,000
  • Hamilton County Parks Foundation of Cincinnati, Ohio – $1,500
