Looking for a fun and rewarding way to show with fellow American Quarter Horse Association members? Then check out your 2013 AQHA Regional Championship Show. Regional championship shows are located across the United States and Europe, representing 11 regions. Competitors have a chance to win prizes from AQHA’s team of corporate partners including Tex Tan saddles, Montana Silversmith buckles, Professional’s Choice product, WeatherBeeta blankets, Farnam product and American Quarter Horse Journal products. Top-10 finishers in Regional Championship Novice classes that fall between May 1, 2012, and June 30, 2013, will also qualify for the 2013 AQHA Novice championship shows in any class for which they are Novice-eligible. The 2013 Regional Championship calendar is filling up fast. As of right now regions one, two, three, six, seven, eight, nine and ten have set dates. Currently, Region Four is postponed for 2013 and Region Eleven is tentative. “Due to the lack of available dates, the Region Four Steering Committee made the decision not to hold the Region Four Championship this year,” said OQHA Executive Director Dr. Scott Myers. “The previous site of the Region Four Championship – the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio – did not have any available dates that did not conflict with other shows throughout the region. Additionally, the steering committee explored the option of moving the show to another facility, but again there were conflicts on all available dates.” Dates for region five will be posted soon at www.aqha.com/regionalchampionships. If Region Four competitors have questions about showing in a different region, they are urged to contact AQHA at (806) 376-4811. Do not miss out on the chance to compete in a fun and rewarding environment in addition to attending exhibitor parties, learning at clinics taught by AQHA Professional Horsemen, earning prizes and much more.
