From Family Fun Day to entertainment by Australian Guy McLean, Battle in the Saddle had fun for all ages July 7-8.

For Family Fun Day, children were invited to decorate cotton mops as horses and ride them in a parade during the evening performance July 7 in the Jim Norick Coliseum at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City.

After the children paraded, Guy, the winner of Road to the Horse, brought out his horses for an act that included everything from standing on his horses and cracking whips to convincing his liberty horses to stand over one another.

In between the special events were competitions featuring top horses in western performance disciplines, from roping to working cow horse.

Battle in the Saddle ends July 8 with the finals in working cow horse classes plus the finals of the Ranch Sorting National Championships.
