Ranch Sorting

The 2012 Battle in the Saddle will feature AQHA, Ranch Sorting National Championships-sanctioned ranch sorting classes.

The Ranch Sorting National Championships is proud to partner with the Battle in the Saddle to present classes for ranch sorting competitors of all skill levels and types of experience.

From the most elite cow horse competitors to those in the limited classes, RSNC offers something for everyone. In addition to the six full days of RSNC ranch sorting competition there will also be two AQHA-sanctioned ranch sortings. The first will be co-sanctioned AQHA/RSNC classes where contestants can compete for AQHA points in addition to RSNC jackpots. AQHA special event  No. 2 will be strictly AQHA open, amateur and youth classes.

AQHA/RSNC Special Event No. 1

  • AQHA open: $15 per rider/per team - RSNC: $50 per rider/per team 70 percent payback
  • AQHA amateur: $30 per rider/per team
  • AQHA youth: $15 per rider/per team - RSNC $30 per rider/per team 60 percent payback

AQHA Ranch Sorting Special Event No. 2

  • AQHA youth: $30 per rider/per team
  • AQHA amateur: $30 per rider/per team
  • AQHA open: $30 per rider/per team

Information

  • To compete in AQHA classes at the Ranch Sorting National Championships, all riders and horse owners must have current memberships and be members in good standing with RSNC and AQHA. AQHA memberships can be purchased at the show.
  • Health papers and negative Coggins (1 year) required at barn check-in.
  • A current copy of the horse’s registration paper will be required at time of entry in order to verify current ownership.
  • All AQHA classes will be one go-round.
  • All entries will be judged by AQHA- and RSNC-certified judges.
  • Ties will be broken according to the current RSNC rules.
  • Show management reserves the right to limit the number of entries taken.
  • All entry forms, including the AQHA and RSNC waiver of liability, must be signed by an owner, agent or exhibitor.
  • All entry forms must include the owner's social security number.
  • All AQHA entries will be made through the RSNC show office.
  • Horses will be allowed on the show grounds beginning at noon on July 2.
